"Internet proxy" is a term that I keep hearing. Does anyone have any idea what this is or how it operates?

An internet proxy is a server that acts as an intermediary between your device and the internet. When you request a website, the proxy forwards your request, fetches the data, then sends it back to you. It hides your IP address, improves security, and can filter or cache content. Proxies help control access and enhance privacy online.

An internet proxy acts as an intermediary between your device and the internet. When you send a request (e.g., to visit a website), it first goes to the proxy. The proxy then forwards the request using its own IP address, receives the response, and sends it back to you. This can hide your IP address, filter content, and improve performance.
